In front of the camera
Mary Jo Odom has been involved in various fields of creativity that include years of Art Glass design & manufacturing, child rearing, the music industry, and wedding events. She is a Notary in the State of Florida, an ordained non-denominational Minister, and also officiates weddings. She is a co founder and staff member of Florida Nuptials, which provides officiation services along the Emerald Coast.

Behind the camera
Mary Jo began her experience with photography by building a portfolio of completed stained & art glass commissions over the years using a 35 mm Minolta. She also photographed her children, grandchildren, friends weddings, critters, and anything that caught her eye while a camera was nearby. She worked with wedding event companies on the side, and when the housing industry bottomed out - the doors to the Art Glass business were closed and those to wedding officiation and photography were opened. While Florida Nuptials was growing , she would grab the camera and tag along with the other officiants if her services weren't booked. The business was growing and the company website was an ongoing work in progress. Bridal couples were happy to have free photography - Florida Nuptials was happy with the addition of photos and the final results of the website. Word of mouth led to a paid booking, then another, then another, and a new type of business portfolio was created. The years of wedding experience helped with the transition from in front of the camera to behind the camera lens, instinctively knowing where to be at during certain points of the ceremony. Her years of experience with children and caring for an elderly family member has gifted her with the ability to work with family members of all ages. Content copyright 2010-2014.
